BBB: What is Edenism?

A new world is possible.
A new world is needed.
We will have a new word.

We've been given a pretty terrible situation in this world of ours. Climate change and the rising sea levels threaten to throw millions of people into abject suffering.
The constant posturing for economic dominance has brought countries with incredible military might to eachothers throats.
Our friends and comrades commit suicide en masse due to the hopelessness of the situation.
It's all very depressing isn't it?





But it doesn't have to be that way


Edenism supposes that the vast majority of humans gain most pleasure from altruism. The horrors that humans visit upon eachother is largely done unwillingly because of the demands of our society.
Edenism supposes that capitalism is a system wherein the psychopathic and self-interested are given the most benefits of society. This creates an incentive for humans to act with the most brutality they can get away with.
Edenism supposes that this state of affairs is manufactured. It supposes that the scarcity of resources that drives conflict, that starves millions is a result of the cruelty of the system we live under.
Edenism understands that a new world which benefits the altruistic primarily is required for humanities continued existence on this planet.

Edenism is an anti-capitalist eco-socialist ideology which draws heavily from Murray Bookchins Municipal confederalist system.
